Join our Steering Committee

Stop Killer Robots is looking for new organisations to join its Steering Committee! Joining the Stop Killer Robots Steering Committee provides organisations an exciting opportunity to support and shape our global campaign during a key moment in galvanising civil society expertise in the push for international legal norms on autonomous weapons systems, and the opportunity to exchange and bolster their expertise by working within a large global coalition that aims to ensure meaningful human control over the use of force, counter digital dehumanisation, and reduce automated harm.

The Steering Committee is currently composed of nine organisations [Amnesty International, Article 36, Cultural Youth Movement Education Foundation, Human Rights Watch, International Committee for Robot Arms Control, Mines Action Canada, PAX, Protection, and SEHLAC (Red de Seguridad Humana para América Latina y el Caribe)] and we wish to add three new member organisations that are working on humanitarian disarmament issues or on AI in the use of force. We are looking for organisations to support our work in preventing harms from new technologies, including those with practical experience and expertise in the following areas: tech, data, and digital rights; AI and emerging technologies [technical]; international law & policy; disarmament; media & communications; research; and/or the protection of civilians in conflict. The main responsibilities include strategic planning, policy development, international campaigning, and engagement in media and communications.   

We specifically welcome candidate organisations that will increase the diversity of the Steering Committee, particularly those from backgrounds currently underrepresented in the Steering Committee and the wider campaign and disarmament sectors, including those from the Global Majority and those with other marginalised identities.
